Our mandate

Encountering God's Transforming Presence

In Matthew 22:37-39, Jesus commands us to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

At Catch The Fire we believe we can accomplish this mandate through a three-way journey of encountering God, letting God transform our hearts, which then enables us to let God's love overflow from us to others.

Encounter

The Upward Journey

We value the importance of having encounters with God, through worship, prayer, and reading the Word of God. We want to experience the reality of God in our everyday lives.

"The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them."  (John 14:21b)

Transformation

The Inward Journey

We believe our encounter with God leads to transformation and healing of our body, soul and spirit. As we cooperate with God He does a deep work in our hearts causing us to become more like Him.

"And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." (2 Corinthians 3:18)

Overflow

The Outward Journey

Jesus said that "out of our inner most beings would flow rivers of living water."     (John 7:38)

As we encounter the reality of God and allow his love to transform us we are filled and empowered to overflow with His love to our community, releasing the Kingdom of God everywhere we go.
